Higher-value transfers

On a larger purchase, transfer duty is a significant sum and must be paid to SARS before the Deeds Office will register the transfer. We give you the figure early so the money is ready when it is needed, and we explain who pays what between buyer and seller.

Marriage, wills and estate planning

If you are buying property as a couple, your marital regime decides who owns it. An antenuptial contract signed before the wedding and registered afterwards sets that out. As notaries, we draft and register antenuptial contracts, and we can align them with your wills so your property passes the way you intend.

Rates clearance in Edenvale and Bedfordview

Properties in Edenvale and Bedfordview fall under the City of Ekurhuleni. Before the Deeds Office registers a transfer, the municipality must confirm that nothing is owed on the property's rates and services account. We apply for those figures in the first week of the transfer, so that this step runs alongside the bank and the bond cancellation instead of waiting for them.
